Adjusters Checklist For Meeting With Insured

Get Personnel records
Get wage records
Inquire about knowledge of any pre-existing conditions for potential second injury relief and/or non-job cause of disability
Inquire about facts of accident and any witnesses
Inquire about job description and duties
Inquire about claimant's standing with insured just prior to alleged accident (was employee about to be fired or laid off?)
Inquire about claimant's attitude about working in general
Inquire about claimant's personal life (was there any recent change which would have made claimant reconsider decision to continue working? I.E. stay home with sick family member, pregnancy, garnishment of wages, eligibility for retirement)
Inquire about knowledge of any other lawsuits
Inquire about claimant's present physical status and activities
Inquire about claimant's present employment status, there or elsewhere
Inquire whether claimant filed an unemployment claim
Inquire about any other benefits claimant could be receiving (i.e. retirement, disability, etc.)
Inquire about claimant's relationship with any co-employee, whether they see claimant outside of work, and whether they will help claimant's case.
