New Location

We are proud to be back at our new building, located at 3320 West Esplanade Ave. North, Metairie, Louisiana 70002 and we are moving forward into the future. As part of our progress, we will maintain this website to assist you with the efficient administration of your workers' compensation claims, updating the website periodically to ensure that you are apprised of all recent changes in the law.

Recent Changes

Importantly, a recent change in the Rules allows the initial mediation conference in the Office of Workers' Compensation to be waived. In these instances, service of the lawsuit is being made directly on employers and/or insurers. For those conmpanies that have mail sent to a remote site for scanning, you want to ensure that your adjusters are being given timely notice of service of the lawsuits to avoid claimants from taking defaults for failure to file timesly responsive pleadings.

Another recent change in the law concerns the filing of the Form 1007. In the past, employers were required to file this form. With the new law, the insurance carrier, self-insured employer, or group self-insurance fund are required to file the Form 1007. Please let us kno wif you need a copy of the new correct Form 1007.

For Second Injury Fund claims, before the Board will provide reimbursements on settled claims, it now wants copies of all bills and copies of the corresponding checks. The exception is if there is a printout that contains all of the information that woiuld be on the check (e.g. check number, invoice paid numbr, payee name, date of service, etc.)

Boot Camp

Finally, please do not forget about the Adjuster Boot Camp, to be held on November 30, 2006 and December 1, 2006, Metairie, Louisiana. Please see the Seminars link for further information.

As always, please do not hesitate to let us know how we can serve you, our clients.
